About Equine Connections: Pam Brownlie P.T. has over 30 years experience treating both the human and equine athletes and has lectured and published in both areas. After a thorough study of available accredited physical treatment modalities for injured and sick horses, she has developed her own composite system, ‘Equine Connections.’ This unique system employs and demonstrates the techniques of -Myofascial
Release Pam is accomplished in the use of and employs
the following modalities: Electro
Accuscope Human
and equine dysfunctions
are often
in the form of tight
connective tissue (fascia). Myofascial
Release
is a gentle and
effective way to free restrictions around muscles, tendons, bones, blood
vessels and lymph glands. The lymph glands provide nutrition to the cells,
eliminate waste, and help decrease inflammation. Bowen ‘Equine
Touch’
addresses muscles,
connective tissue and the meridian system to balance the entire body. It
consists of a series of gentle moves in a predetermined pattern over
specific points on the body. When
applied accurately in the prescribed manner, the method relaxes, realigns,
and rebalances the entire body. Integrative Manual
Therapy,
or IMT for animals, is a non-invasive, highly effective hands-on treatment
for animals. IMT treats
restrictions in the cranio/sacral system which includes muscle, bone,
nerve, spine and organs. Most
importantly, it treats toxicity, one of the leading causes of illness in
horses today. Equine
Touch and IMT helps
to correct severe equine dysfunction, but more importantly, it will help
any horse at any time. It is
able to locate and treat areas of restrictions in the facial system, which
block energy along the meridians, which in turn, effect muscle and organ
function. It also locates and
treats tight muscles and ligaments which are potentially dangerous to a
horse’s optimum function. This
therapy is effective for any cervical, thoracic, or lumbar dysfunction.
It also is effective for tendon, ligament, and muscle dysfunction.
It helps with any lame or injured horse, and is especially
effective for sore backs. In addition to treating existing
conditions, the above therapies can be used preventatively to enhance your
horse’s performance.
